COP (Conference of the Parties)
IPOA has led delegation's of First Nations people and supported First Nations attendance at COP26, COP27 and COP28.
In 2024 IPOA will support a delegation of First Nations Community Representatives to attend COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan to support and advocate for place based solutions to address climate change.

LCIPP Pacific Regional Gathering
Indigenous Peoples’ Organisation-Australia (IPOA) collaborated with the Australian Department of Climate Change Environment Energy and Water (DCCEEW) and the Local Communities Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP) Secretariat to host the Pacific Regional Gathering (PRG) Climate Conference.

Indigenous Decision Making Workshop
IPOA hosted the Indigenous Decision-Making Workshop, in Sydney from 14-16 May 2024, to develop 16 Indigenous community-determined climate mitigation, adaptation and capacity building projects, responding to the needs of six communities across Australia and 10 communities across the Pacific region.

Treaty Talks and March
IPOA organised a Justice through Treaty March in Sydney in 2018, where more than 3000 people marched for a treaty. The March received significant media coverage in both mainstream and independent press.
IPOA held the Treaty Talks Workshop with more than 100 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants from across Australia. The workshop involved 21 speakers and ABC Radio National aired two interviews on the Treaty Talks Workshop.
